Mahashivratri 2024 Shubh Muhurat

Chaturdashi Tithi of Mahashivratri will start at 9.57 pm on March 8 and will end at 6.17 pm on March 9. However, it is important to worship Mahadev during Pradosh period only, hence the festival of Mahashivratri will be celebrated on 8th March i.e. tomorrow itself.

According to classical rituals, it is best to worship Shivratri during 'Nishith Kaal'. However, devotees of Shiva can perform this puja at any time of the four hours of the night as per their convenience.

Nishita Kaal – It will last from 12:05 AM on March 8 to 12:56 AM on March 9.

First hour of night puja time – Starting from 6:25 pm on March 8 and will end at 9:28 pm.

Second night worship time - It will start at 9:28 pm on March 8 and will end at 12:31 pm on March 9.

The puja time will start at 12.31 am on March 9 and will end at 3.34 am in the morning.

Fourth hour of night puja time - It will start from 3:34 am on March 9 and will continue till 6:37 am.

Mahashivratri 2024 Puja vidhi

Get up before sunrise on the day of Shivratri. First of all, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this, if possible, take a pledge to eat fruits or observe a waterless fast. Then walk on Shivalinga and start worshiping at the auspicious time. Offer Panchamrit to Lord Shiva.

After which, offer all the worship rituals including flowers, incense, fruits, lamps to Shivling. After offering all this, offer kheer and recite Shiva mantras and Shiva Chalisa. At last, perform Aarti with all the Gods and Goddesses.
